Yosuke Koizumi is a potter from Japan who joined the Shimpo team in Japan, after working as a
production potter for three years in the pottery village of Shigaraki. Yosuke was instrumental in the
development of the Whisper Series potter’s wheels. He is a talented potter, a graduate of Tulane University,
whose demonstrations focus on the spontaneity of Japanese pottery. Prior to becoming a member of the
Shimpo America staff Yosuke did demonstrations in Japan, China, Korea, Singapore and throughout
Europe. He is also experienced in electric, gas and wood kiln firing.
Shimpo Demonstration & Workshop Information
For the past few years, Shimpo Ceramics has been providing wheel-throwing demonstrations across the
U.S. and Canada, as well as Mexico and South America. Demonstrations have been done at high schools,
colleges & universities, studios, galleries, national and local shows, festivals and Shimpo dealer locations.
